Doug F. Reeder – Senior Associate

A trial lawyer with experience serving clients in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Reeder joined Freeman Mills PC as an associate in August of 2007. Raised in East Texas, Doug graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1990. Mr. Reeder earned his B.A. in Political Science from Texas A&M University–Commerce before attending law school at the University of Houston Law Center.

James became an associate of Freeman Mills PC in 2010. Mr. Rowland’s practice focuses on natural resources law with an emphasis on title examination. He is also well versed in issues relating to tax law.

Growing up in what is now a three-generation oil and gas family, James began his oil and gas career as a petroleum landman while in law school. Before joining Freeman Mills PC, James worked as an attorney and co-title manager for a 140-person land broker operating in the Barnett Shale.

TOM SCOTT – of Counsel

Tom Scott was born in Houston, Texas in 1934. He graduated from Rice University (B.A. 1955) and the University of Texas School of Law (L.L.B., with honors, 1958). While in law school he was Associate Editor, Texas Law Review, 1957-58, Phi Delta Phi, and Order of the Coif. Mr. Scott has been board certified in Oil, Gas, & Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1986. He was chairman of the Natural Resources Section (now the Oil, Gas, and Energy Law Section) from 1981-1982 and Section Council from 1976-1983. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Association, a Life Fellow: Texas Bar Foundation, a member of the Midland County Bar Association (President, 1979-80), and the American Bar Association.
